Freshen The Air In Your Home

Having live plants in your home can be very healthy. They breathe in the dirty air and trap pollutants within their systems. Then they give off oxygen-rich clean air and rid the air of volatile organic compounds - harmful substances such as formaldehyde, benzene and ammonia - while keeping humidity at a proper level (this is a key for allergy relief).
Although you might think you'd only find benzene formaldehyde, and similar chemicals outside factories or industrial parks in fact, pollution of this sort tends to be at far higher levels inside homes than in the outside air. Carpets, plastics, cleaning products, nail polish remover can give off vapors that are especially troublesome to those prone to allergies.
A couple of potted plants in each room can be enough to receive benefits. If you are bothered by mold, stop it from growing with an inch of aquarium gravel on top of the soil. This also keeps your cats from digging in the soil. Put a plant beside your bed, desk or anywhere you spend a lot of time and the air you breathe will be nice and fresh.
Any kind of plant is beneficial although some are better cleaning the air than others and a few are easier to grow (and tougher to kill). Luckily, some of the best plants for cleaning the air are also traditional household favorites such as: Rubber plant, Spider plant, English ivy, Dracaena, Boston Fern, Peace lily, Corn plant and Schefflera. Stop in and pick up a plant or two to help the air in your home.

Live plants in your home can clean the air in your home and also help keep the humidity at a proper level.
